30 Fun Summer Bucket List Ideas
Summer has officially begun and I’ve made a list of things I want to do this summer and I plan to stick with it! I like to create bucket lists especially around the summer because it makes life more interesting. You don’t want to get stuck with the common day-to-day activities and before you know it–summer is over.
For the next 3 months, embark on exciting adventures and let go of your inhibitions. Here are 30 summer bucket list ideas to have you ready for an incredible summer!
1. Update your summer reading list
Summer is the best time to dive in to great books. Commit to reading at least three. Goodreads is a great source for finding books or you can check out what I’m reading this summer!
2. Host a bonfire party at the beach
It wouldn’t be a fun summer without having one bonfire party on the beach with friends and making tasty s’mores.
3. Take a phone-free vacation
If you’re attached to your phone like me, than vow to take a phone-free vacation this summer even if it’s only for day.
4. Go salsa dancing with your best friends
This is a fun one that I’ve done several times with friends. It’s the perfect summer evening activity.
5. Host a BBQ
Invite your friends, family, coworkers, and even your crush over for an old-fashioned barbeque.
6. Wear a floppy hat
If I could choose one essential accessory this summer, it would be a floppy sun hat.
7. Take a cooking class
Creating a tasty dish can brighten up your mood and who knows.. you might just discover a new hobby.
8. Make an amazing summer smoothie
Summer smoothies can make as a healthy breakfast for anyone on the go.
9. Go to an outdoor music festival
As much as I love going to Coachella during the spring, there are so many amazing music festivals happening this summer so if you’ve never been to one, there’s no better time than now.
10. Go on an weekend road trip

11. Learn how to make cake pops
I’ve always wanted to learn how to make cake pops from scratch and this season I plan on making that happen.
12. Dip dye your hair
Go wild and give your ends some color!
13. Buy a pair of new sandals

14. Go to a drive-in movie
Drive-ins are a nostalgic alternative to a traditional movie theatre. The setting is romantic because you get to watch the movie underneath the stars and tickets are most often cheaper.
15. Master one summer cocktail
I love making cocktails and serve them at BBQ’s. Find a cocktail recipe that’s maybe frozen or citrus-y!
16. Participate in “Mani Monday”

17. Style an outfit for someone
Try an exciting and daring fashion challenge!
18. Try a new summer hairstyle

Retro swimsuits are a must have this summer!
20. Take a yoga class on the beach
Outdoor yoga is so much fun and there’s no better way to begin a summer day.

Spend your Saturday morning buying locally grown fresh fruits and garden vegetables.

Summer is the perfect time to indulge in chilly treat so why not gelato. I’ve tried a bunch of flavors and you really can’t go wrong.
23. Go to the county fair
No matter what city you’re in or traveling to, head over to the local county fair.
24. Make a summer playlist
I like to make a music playlist every year and I forever smile when I play it and remember the best times of my life.
25. Go an entire day without makeup
Give your face a break and go au naturale!
26. Have a picnic
Plan a picnic on the beach or in your backyard with friends or with your boyfriend. Things you’ll need: a giant blanket, candles, pillows, a basket full of finger food, and a bottle of wine.
27. Do more outdoor activities
Make some time to be adventurous and try new outdoor activities like hiking, bike riding, swimming, or skateboarding.
28. Take lots of pictures
Document your summer by taking lots of pics. You don’t want to miss one single moment of it all.
29. Complete a DIY project
Get your creative juices flowing and make time to do at least 1 DIY project. Hit up Pinterest for inspiration!
30. Make a cold treat
