The Lazy Girl Guide to Skin Care
My current skin care routine involves 10 steps in the morning and night. Yes, I know it sounds crazy and I initially thought so too when I first learned about this routine started by women in Korea. I still do it till this day because it has helped my skin tremendously; however, I will admit it can be quite tiresome especially on days when I just don’t have the energy to do it which seems like everyday lately.
So to cut down on time, I created a lazy girl method which focus on just the bare minimums you can get away with yet still have great skin. The routine has been edited down from 10 to just 3 steps and here’s the breakdown:
1. Cleanse Your Face
When it comes to cleaning your face, there’s no need to get fancy. A good mild cleanser is all you need. Just make sure you pick a cleanser that best for your skin type (dry, oily, normal, etc.). I have oily skin and I’ve been using a charcoal soap bar to remove dirt, oil and residue from my face. If I’m wearing makeup, I’ll use makeup remover wipes or an oil-based cleanser first.
2. Use One Anti-Aging Product
I find that using one anti-aging product that tackles many skin problems like fine lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores, redness, discoloration while improving skin firmness and texture is more beneficial that using a ton of anti-aging products at one time that tackles one or two issues. If I were to recommend an anti-aging product, you can’t go wrong with Perricone MD Cold Plasma Plus.
This product has done wonders to my skin. I’m still amazed on how much my skin has improved in such a short amount of time. For those that are new to my blog, I’m in my mid-thirties and I’ve already noticed a loss of elasticity around my laugh lines. I started using Perricone MD Cold Plasma Plus about two weeks ago and my face is a lot firmer and my laugh lines have smoothed out a great deal.
As you can see, it’s very lightweight and I love how fast it absorbs into my skin. It’s also loaded with powerhouse ingredients, including Copper Tripeptides for firmness and elasticity, Vitamin C Ester to reduce the look of dark spots and restore radiance, and Omegas 3, 6 and 9 to promote smoother, more supple-looking skin.
3. Wear Sunscreen Every Day
You must not skip this step! It doesn’t matter what the weather is like outside or what season we’re in, you should always wear sunscreen. A moisturizer or broad-spectrum sunscreen with zinc oxide and has SPF 30 should suffice. It should be the last step before leaving the house or applying makeup.
Things You Don’t Need
So stick with this skincare routine on days when you don’t have time for applying multiple products. I didn’t add toner or eye cream in this routine because first, not everybody needs or uses a toner. A toner is mainly for balancing the pH in your skin. I say it’s more helpful for people with acne-prone or oily skin so add it if you need it but it’s totally not necessary. Again, Perricone MD Cold Plasma Plus tackles issues like acne and oily skin. You also don’t need an eye cream if your regular moisturizer doesn’t irritate your eyes. Now if you have big eye concerns like eye bags, discoloration, and or puffiness; then a targeted treatment is best.
