11 Ways To Make Money for Christmas
This post is all about how to make money for Christmas.
Fall is that time of year when Christmas starts looming over us all. The most expensive time of the year. But, with a little bit of work in advance, Christmas doesn’t have to be a concern. In fact, you can start making and extra $1,000+ right now that can go towards Christmas and making the burden just a little bit easier to bear. In this post, I’ll show you little ways to make money for Christmas from home this Fall.
1. Make Money For Christmas: Online Tutoring
Is there a topic you are particularly knowledgeable in that you could tutor others in? This might include helping an elementary school student with a musical instrument, a high schooler with math, or even helping teens improve in a particular game. When it comes to online tutoring, so long as you have a skill, there is someone out there who wants to learn that skill. It’s just a matter of finding them.
Here’s a list of companies to check out:
2. Make Money For Christmas: Get Crafty
Are you a crafty person? Can you sew, knit, or crochet? If there’s anything you can make, there’s something you can sell to make quick cash for the holidays. Even something small like offering to sew on buttons is something that people will pay for, because not everyone has that skill.
If your skills lie in kid’s crafts then why not film yourself or take photos of the process and sell them to bloggers? Depending on the craft you can get hundreds of dollars by selling it to multiple bloggers. To get started, you can sell your crafts on Etsy to people interested in them.

Create Printables
Aside from blogging, I create printables and I sell them here at the HBH shop. I was already creating printables and giving it away to my readers for free but then I saw people actually selling all kinds of printables on sites like Etsy.
I wanted to do the same thing and open up my own shop; but, I really didn’t know where to start so I bought this course and it has been super helpful. I opened up my shop in May 2019 and now I make on average around an extra $1000+ a month from printables alone!
3. Make Money For Christmas: Search The Web
So you really want to know how to make money during the holidays with ease? You can get paid just for searching the web. Yes, you read that right. There are companies that will pay you just for doing something you’re already doing everyday. Might as well get paid for it, right? Swagbucks is a website that pays you to complete various online tasks like searching the web, taking surveys, watching videos, answering polls and more.
It’s so easy to make some extra cash right away for Christmas through Swagbucks. Click here to join Swagbucks for free and get a $5 sign up bonus.
4. Make Money For Christmas: Transcribing
Transcribing has quickly become one of those online jobs that are always in demand and pays fairly well. There are a number of different websites that will help you land transcribing jobs. If you speak multiple languages, that’s even better. There is always someone looking to have audio in English translated into Spanish and other languages.
Check out these websites to get started today!
5. Make Money For Christmas: Dog Walking
Ok, so dog walking isn’t exactly at home, but it isn’t going to a workplace either, and it is so incredibly easy to make quick Christmas cash that I had to include it. Like other jobs you can start out by advertising in your neighborhood, but, there are also a few apps that will help you connect with people looking for dog walkers as well. My favorite is Rover because you can earn up to $1,000 a month!
Sign Up For Rover
The Rover app connects dog owners with dog sitters and walkers. It’s great because you can set your own hours and you determine how much you want to get paid for sitting. There are so many services offered aside from dog walking too like doggy daycare, housesitting or drop ins and dog boarding. Dog boarding offers the highest earnings because you’ll be caring for the dog overnight in your own home.
Sign up for a free Rover account here. Then create your profile and this where you will give detailed information on the type of dogs you want to care for and your schedule. Then you’re all set and will start receiving requests from pet owners. After you finish your task, you’ll get paid in just 2 business days.
The biggest downside to the job is having to clean up poop…and there will be a lot of it. But the benefits include getting out in nature, getting exercise, and getting to spend time with dogs.
6. Make Money For Christmas: Write an Ebook
Writing an ebook is so incredibly easy that once you publish your first one you’re not likely to ever stop doing it. It can be fiction, it can be non-fiction. You don’t have to use your real name when you publish it even. Write about something you’ve experienced that not many people have or something that you have a lot of knowledge about. Or you can write something in your favorite genre of fiction. You don’t have to have a degree in English to be a writer. You just need to have the passion to tell stories.
How to get started?
I’m currently writing an ebook after taking an ebook creation course created by Kelly McNellis. She writes a ton of ebooks for her blog, The Family Freezer and has sold over 2,000 ebooks a month which nets her over $100,000+ a year. She created a newbie-friendly course on how to create an ebook from scratch and her exact system so I highly recommend you check it out.
7. Make Money For Christmas: Freelance Writing
Speaking of writing, if ebooks feel a little bit too daunting then maybe freelance writing is more up your alley. Freelancer writing is writing for blogs and other websites that pay you for your words. The amount you get paid depends on the genre and how successful the site is but I would suggest no less than $30 for 1,000 words as a beginner. As you develop your skill and your client base you can even work your way up to $300 for 1,000 words! It’s one of my favorite ways to make money fast for Christmas.
If you are interested in freelance writing, I highly recommend you read this article on how to become a master in paid freelance writing!
Some of my favorite places for writing jobs are:
- The Sun Magazine (earn between $100-$2,000)
- Wonderslist (price not listed)
- MoneyPantry (earn up to $150 per article)
- Listverse (earn up to $100 per article)
- HerViewfromHome (earn up to $100 an article)
8. Make Money For Christmas: Use Cashback Sites
If you aren’t using cashback websites like Rakuten and ibotta when you shop then you are missing out on an amazing opportunity. With Rakuten, you earn cash rewards when you shop online or in-store with their partner merchants. Yes, it is only a little bit of money here and there as you shop, but you’re going to be doing that shopping anyway, so why not make some money with it? These sites primarily work with online shopping, but sometimes they will even work with brick and mortar stores as well.
Ibotta
If you spend a lot of money on groceries especially with the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays approaching, then you need ibotta in your life. Ibotta is an amazing cashback app that gives you cashback on a large variety of grocery and personal care items. The way it works is you just choose what you want to buy, go to the grocery store to buy them, take a pic of your receipt and upload it from your phone to the app. Within 24 hours your cashback will appear. Plus, you can earn up to $20 in welcome bonuses when you sign up!
9. Make Money For Christmas: Sell Things You Don’t Use
Do you have a bunch of things sitting around your house that you don’t want or need anymore but are still in great condition? Sell them! There are apps for selling high-end clothes, everyday clothes, and more. There is of course eBay, where you can sell just about anything. Etsy allows you to sell vintage items. But for tech items, by far the easiest way to sell the ones you don’t need is the Decluttr App.
It’s a great selling app that allows you to make money by selling your tech items like phones, DVDs, CDs, video games, and more. It’s super easy to sell and get quick cash for Christmas.
All you do is create a free Decluttr account then scan the barcode of the items you want to sell. The app will tell you how much it will sell your item for and then you’re all set. Decluttr app will pay you either through direct deposit or check once the item has been sold.
10. Manage a Company’s Social Media Accounts
Finally, if you are a social media fan, like really a fan, you know your way in and out of the site or app, then you could be managing a company’s social media accounts for them. This is one of the few times where I recommend starting by reaching out to family and friends who own businesses. See if they need help with social media and offer it to them at a vastly reduced rate. This will help you get some experience under your belt for when you start going out to businesses in your neighborhood and town.
11. Make Money For Christmas: Start a Blog
Blogging is something I’m only including because I am a blogger and I want you to know that you CAN make money from blogging. It is hard work and very slow to get started. I currently earn between $7,000-$10,000+ a month blogging. If you’re looking for cash in a hurry, this isn’t the side hustle for you. But, if you have time to develop your blog and grow your audience within a year, you can literally make thousands every month. There’s no better time than now to start one so by next Christmas, you won’t have to worry about money for Christmas.
It’s super easy to get started with blogging and requires very little overhead. Get your blog up and running in under 20 minutes with my step-by-step tutorial here. I also have a free 5-day email blogging course you can join too that will help you start and launch a successful blog in 5 days!
