Aesthetic Morning Routine: Tips & Ideas For Beginners
This post is all about an aesthetic morning routine.
You’ve probably come across TikTok videos of aesthetic morning routine videos. These satisfying clips of neat and productive mornings are well put together that you can’t help but compare your routine to these videos
You know, the micro-short clips strung together with green juice, healthy food, journaling, workouts, reading, and so on; all before planning a week’s worth of to-do lists before 10 am. While some of these videos can be harmful since they are mostly an unrealistic perception, they can still be a source of inspiration to fuel your morning routine plan.
A morning routine is an important part of a productive day. Creating a personal morning routine that suits your lifestyle can be quite a challenge, but it will be worth it. If you’re looking for inspiration to start your day on the right foot, you’re on the right page.
In this post, you will learn everything you need to know on how to create an aesthetic morning routine that should help you feel good and boost your productivity. Whether you’re a morning person or not, the routine outlined here will help you relax and prepare for the day.
What is an Aesthetic Morning Routine?
An aesthetic morning routine is simply a way to start your day in an aesthetically pleasing and productive way as possible. It’s all about setting yourself up for success, from morning to evening, so that you can get the most done in less time while avoiding feeling stressed out or overwhelmed by all the tasks on your plate.
By infusing elements of self-care, beauty, and intentionality into your routine, you can nurture a sense of mindfulness and create a positive momentum for the day ahead.
An aesthetic morning routine typically aims to have the perfect meals and perfect workout outfits and is super aspirational on every level. It’s based on the idea that the first thing you do in the morning sets the tone for the rest of the day.

Like I mentioned earlier, morning routines are vital because they usually set the tone for the rest of the day. For most people, if you wake up late and spend your morning scrolling through social media, it gets a lot more difficult to turn things around and accomplish anything. But if you get an excellent start, you will be more motivated to finish all or at least most of your tasks.
How you organize your personal aesthetic morning routine will be entirely up to you. I put together my own aesthetic morning routine that is time-stamped. The order of the steps outlined in the next section can be shifted and altered to suit you and your lifestyle better. All in all, no matter how you structure your routine, these steps can build the foundation of your aesthetic morning.
A Time-Stamped Aesthetic Morning Routine
7:00 am: Get Up Early
Studies have demonstrated that people should ideally go to bed earlier in the night and wake up early in the morning. This pattern matches the human biological tendencies to adapt sleep patterns to the movement of the sun. This is why we are naturally sleepier after sundown.
The time you wake up largely depends on the amount of sleep you need every night. So long as you get enough restful sleep (7-8 hours), the best time to wake up shouldn’t worry you. And no matter when you wake up, it will already be the best time to start your day.
But if you’re having problems getting up early, realize that many people deal with this too. But you have to make conscious effort to remove nighttime distractions before going to bed.
Consider adjusting the times you go to bed if necessary to reach a point where you’re going to sleep at a decent hour that will allow you 7-8 hours of sleep so you can wake up feeling refreshed and energized the next day. Don’t forget that nighttime routines are as important as morning ones.
7:03 am: Let Light In
Opening your blinds to let in all the sunlight will certainly brighten up your mornings. When you open all of the blinds or curtains and let the light in, it will energize you for the day ahead, and give you a good dose of Vitamin D, which should help enhance your mood and fight against seasonal depression.
During the colder climates, you could still enjoy the aesthetic of natural light by keeping the blinds open when the sun is not as visible, it’s raining or cloudy.

7:05 am: Drink A Glass of Water
Hydrating in the morning is really important. It helps rehydrate your body, flush out toxins, kickstart your metabolism, and leave you feeling energized and refreshed.
Whether it’s plain water with ice or a glass of hot water with lemon, drinking water whenever possible can help you feel more awake and alert. Adding some flavor like lemon to the water helps make it more than just a boring glass of water. It helps make it delicious, looks aesthetically pleasing, and is good for your body.
Aim for at least one gallon of water a day. If you have trouble remembering to drink your water, use an aesthetic widget from an app like WaterMinder, which should send you reminders throughout the day.
7:10 am: Do some journaling
Modern life can be hectic. If you’re trying to have a productive routine, you should give yourself about 10 to 15 minutes a day every morning, where you just sit in silence, with no phone, and do 5 to 10 minutes of journaling. You can easily make this activity a lot more meaningful to you by lighting a scented candle (or even incense) which should create a serene ambiance that enhances your journaling experience and makes it more of a self-care ritual.
Journaling seems to be a highlight of most aesthetic morning routine videos. While the activity might seem a bit cheesy for people who are not into journaling by nature, it can be really rewarding – a lot more than aesthetic reasons. Enhanced self-awareness, mental clarity, emotional balance, anxiety relief, and boosted happiness are just some of the many benefits that journaling will bring.
If you’re not used to journalling in the morning, consider getting a journal where you spend just 5 minutes each morning expressing gratitude. My go-to is The Five Minute Journal. It’s a gratitude journal and it takes just 5 minutes of your morning to complete. Just take your tea or coffee, get in a comfy spot, take out your journal, and write. It will change the tone of your day.
7:20 am: Stretch & Get In Some Movement
Stretching and moving in the morning is good for your body, mind, and soul. Your physical and mental health will be positively impacted by movement. Stretching will help improve circulation, increase your range of motion in joints, improve flexibility, and reduce tension throughout your entire body.
Getting some movement doesn’t necessarily mean an intense gym session or a sweaty workout. Simple activities like quick yoga sessions, walking outside to get some fresh air, or at-home body workouts can be just as beneficial. Some specific movements geared towards mornings can also be helpful and set you up for a productive day. Consider incorporating pilates, yoga, or a short walk to get your blood flowing.
To stick to a aesthetic morning routine, consider putting on your favorite workout clothes. Having workout outfits that make you feel confident in your body can help you stay motivated to keep moving. You could buy a cute workout outfit set, or put together comfortable outfits from clothes you already own for your aesthetic morning workouts.

Hygiene
Hygiene is paramount when it comes to building an effective and aesthetic morning routine. You should always make it a priority to take care of yourself, and this starts with having a proper skincare, shower, and oral care routine.
Following a workout or a yoga session, you may find yourself needing a full-body shower. You want the shower session to feel special and luxurious, to fit the aesthetic morning routine goal. As such, you want to make it your purpose to romanticize your life and practice self-care whenever possible, including when taking a shower.
Skincare
Devoting some time in the morning to skin care is a great way of practicing self-care and self-love, which are essential parts of an aesthetic morning routine. Consider turning on your favorite podcast or soothing music, light a scented candle or incense, and take your time when practicing your skincare routine.
Consider this morning skincare routine below:
- Wash your face with a gentle cleanser
- Apply toner
- Apply serum
- Apply eye cream
- Apply moisturizer
- Optionally apply facial oil (colder months)
- Apply sunscreen with SPF 30+
Cleanse, moisturize, and protect your skin using products that suit your skin type. Go for products that give you the most luxurious and relaxing feelings in the morning. Pamper yourself with serums, face masks, and facial massages to promote a glowing and healthy complexion.
8:20 am: Brew a cup of coffee or tea

The ritual of brewing a warm cup of tea or coffee can be such a delightful and sensory experience. Choose the perfect blend, savor the aroma, and take your time to enjoy this soothing ritual. Consider using aesthetically pleasing tea cups or mugs to enhance the experience.
If you’re used to taking tea or coffee in the morning, you could try making something a bit fancier, or something that will feel more like a treat. For instance, this would mean making a latte with an espresso machine instead of the standard brewed coffee. You might even consider some yummy syrups to spice the brew up. Whatever you choose, do what makes you feel like you’re having a romanticized, aesthetic morning.
Brewing your tea or coffee essentially can be a daily ritual that lets you take time out of your day just for yourself. It’s self care. This is something that a lot of people forget. It’s important to soothe your body and mental wellness.
8:25 am: Make a Healthy Breakfast
Breakfast is the most important meal for your day. Preparing a healthy, nutritious breakfast will fuel your body and give you sustained energy throughout your morning. However, it doesn’t have to be a chore, especially when following an aesthetic morning routine. You could make aesthetic breakfasts by using local fresh ingredients that are in season at your local farmer’s market or grocery store.
Aim for healthy options like whole grains, vegetables, fruits, and lean proteins over refined sugars found in cereals and toasts. Experiment with colorful ingredients and different presentations to help make the meal a lot more visually appealing. How you make the food, how you arrange it, your surroundings, and the serve-ware you use are all things that can help make your breakfast feel a lot more special.
Here are some tips for making a more aesthetic breakfast:
- Plate your meal in a more visually appealing way.
- Use your favorite utensils, dishes, and serveware.
- Set the scene by sitting in a comfortable area, lighting some candles, and choosing a comfy seat.
- Include a variety of colors on your plate.
It’s worth noting that these tips are just about enhancing the appearance of your breakfast time. When it comes down to it, what you eat matters most. Breakfast is all about nourishing your body in the morning.
8:50 am: Clean Up
Consider also taking time to declutter your living space by putting dishes away from the dishwasher, running the vacuum, or even running a load of laundry. A big part of an aesthetic routine is having a tidy living space. Decluttering and organizing your home should be done as often as possible so tidy up for a couple of minutes each morning when you can. With a clean space, you will have more physical and mental space to be productive and achieve great things.
9:00 am: Get Ready For The Day
Take some time to prepare for the day ahead. Of course, this process will be different for everyone. However, you should consider creating a schedule or writing a to-do list with goals and objectives for the day. This will go a long way in helping you stay organized and on track throughout the day.
Consider also choosing clothing that makes you feel comfortable and confident. Get yourself ready for what is left on your agenda for the day. To make the process more aesthetic, consider taking things slow. Have some music or a podcast playing in the background as you dress up, do your hair, or pack your everyday bag.
Final thoughts
Creating an aesthetic morning routine is all about embracing intentional self-care habits and rituals that align with your values and preferences. By incorporating the routine outlined above when getting ready for the day, you will have an aesthetic morning routine that essentially sets a positive tone for your day.
Keep in mind that this is a journey of personalization and self-discovery. Embrace the process and adapt it to your personal aspirations and needs. This way, it can transform your mornings into moments of mindfulness, beauty, and inspiration.
