3 Slimming Workouts to Try in The New Year For The Lazy Girl
Yes it’s time to say goodbye to 2017 and welcome a brand new year 2018! The beginning of the new year is an ideal time for me to revamp my fitness routine by adding a few new workouts to the mix. To get a jump start on achieving your fitness goals for 2018, you too should consider changing your workout routine.
Today, I’m going to help you kick things off by sharing 3 fun and popular slimming workouts for the lazy girl that will burn fat and tone your body in 30 minutes or less a couple times a week. Oh…and here’s the best part- NO GYM REQUIRED!
Lazy Girl Workout #1: Kettlebells
The Kettlebell Swing is my favorite way to workout because there so versatile and you can do almost anything with them. With kettlebell toning, the moves engage multiple muscle groups all at the same time. It targets my shoulders, core, back, thighs, butt, and arms. This exercise also has some waist slimming benefits too! My whole body reaps those amazing toning benefits, it’s much easier on my body, and it can be worked into other exercise forms like running or other traditional cardio training. If you’re new to kettlebells, you should start with 10-15 lb and then work your way up. You can find plenty of beginner routines on the web, but this full body workout is my fave because it’s just ten minutes!
Lazy Girl Workout #2: Tabata (HIIT Workout)
HIIT has gotten a lot of buzz in recent years because it’s one of the best ways to burn fat and tone up in the shortest amount of time. HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training and this workout uses a 2:1 interval ratio, which means you’ll work out at low to moderate intensity for 2 minutes and then push your body to the limit for 1 minute. One of my favorite kind of HIIT workout is Tabata training. These fat-burning exercises last just 4 minutes (can be longer) and are perfect if you’re lacking in the self-motivation department. Any lazy girl would love it because it’s time sufficient and you can do it just about anywhere.
Lazy Girl Workout #3: Yoga
When you can’t make it to the gym, a yoga routine at home is the perfect solution. I’ve been doing yoga for years and a 20-minute routine is all I need to de-stress, improve my flexibility, and feel connected to my body all while getting a good workout. I do go to a yoga studio, but I also go to Youtube when I want a quick workout from the comfort of my home. Here’s a great yoga sequence you can do when you need a break.
Stay Hydrated
With any workout routine it’s important to stay hydrated before, during, and after workouts. There’s nothing worse than feeling lethargic or dehydrated during a workout session so I always have a water bottle next to me. For the past few weeks, Simple Truth Vapor Distilled Water has been my choice because it also has electrolytes that keep me energized.
You’re probably asking yourself, “What is vapor distilled water?” Well, here’s the 411. During the distillation process, municipal water is steamed and the vapor is collected and condensed. The distillation removes all impurities and minerals. Then electrolytes such as calcium chloride, potassium bicarbonate, and magnesium chloride are added for taste.
Simple Truth Vapor Distilled Water comes in a 24 pack and also four flavors in 1 liter bottles: Blackberry Blueberry, Mandarin Orange, Lemon, and Tropical Mango. What I love about this product is that it’s ZERO everything: no calories, no sodium and no fat/carbs/protein – just hydration! Each flavor taste great on its own but even more so after a workout.
Simple Truth products can be found at Kroger, Fred Meyer, Ralphs, QFC, King Soopers, Frys, Dillons, Bakers, Gerbes and Smith’s. Head on over to pick one up for yourself or maybe one in every flavor!

What great tips which is what I’m seeking for the new year. I’ve got to check out the simple truths products this weekend when I go shopping.
Kettle bells have quickly become my FAVORITE workout equipment. They are so versatile!
Wow this is so great, I am planning to have workouts this year. Glad you share this
I’m planning to be fit this year and these tips can really help to me. I totally love these brilliant ideas.
I’m really glad that you shared these smart ideas! I need a kettle bell to complete my workout stuff.
Walking is my exercise of choice. I think I am a little too old for kettle bells. As long as I keep moving and stay hydrated, I’m good with that. BTW, that drink does look like a refreshing alternative to plain water.
I have heard great things about kettlebells. I haven’t had a chance to use them because I have been super cautious after having back surgery a year ago. I have done several other types of workouts that are safe for back injuries using resistance bands or my body weight.
I’m already slim, but I’ve been wanting to try yoga. Hopefully, I get to start this year. I make sure to stay hydrated too.
Yoga is what I am practicing this year. It is seriously time for me to get ahold on this whole weight thing that is dragging me down.
Now that morning sickness is behind me, I’d like to get back into the groove of working out again! Of course, light exercise for me since I’m expecting. 🙂
I have always wanted to try Yoga. Maybe this will be the year that I try it.
