This post is all about 10 healthy habits to follow everyday.
Healthy habits can change anyone’s life, and I know this because there are 10 habits that have helped me completely change my life. A few of these habits include drinking plenty of water, eating healthier and completing things on my to-do list. I believe that the habits I have incorporated into my life can also help you transform your life around.
I recommend taking up all of the habits in the below list but if you can’t, then try your best to incorporate as many as possible to live a healthy lifestyle. With that said, here are 10 healthy habits that can change your life.
10 Healthy Habits That Changed My Life
Need a drastic change in your life and don’t know where to start? Start by building habits, but not just any habits, healthy ones. Here are 10 healthy habits to follow everyday that can change your life for the better.
1. Having Breakfast Every Single Day
Having breakfast every single morning can change your life because it can provide you with adequate energy to get the day started. Not only that, but breakfast is a way to get essential nutrients that your body needs to stay and remain strong. Just make sure you stick to healthy breakfasts, such as oatmeal with some fruit mixed in, eggs with avocado toast (good healthy fats) or you can opt for other whole grain goods, veggie drinks and/or greek yogurts (you’ll need that Vitamin D).
The goal is to be healthy, so don’t turn to sugary cereals or foods that are high in sugar, otherwise you could burn through all your energy very quickly, and you’ll end up feeling tired throughout the rest of the day. Stick with foods that are high protein and fiber.
2. Make A Daily To-Do List
At the start of the day or when you’re about to end the night, create a to-do list for the day or for the next day. This list should consist of short-term goals and/or tasks that you need or should complete, and if you wish, the list can include tasks that will get you closer to a bigger goal you want to achieve. Your list can be anything from performing a workout to doing a house clean, getting extra work done, working on your side business or anything else you want to include. A to-do list keeps you on track, focused and it gives you a sense of purpose.
3. Drink More Water
One of the most healthy habits you can take up is drinking more water, especially in the hot summer months or warmer weather in general. Drinking enough water will change your life because it plays a role in helping you feel energized, increase hydration, eliminate toxins from your body and regulate your body’s temperature. Not only that, but drinking more water daily may do wonders for your skin, such as improving the texture of your skin and/or clearing up acne, redness and so forth.
You can even elevate it by adding 1 or 2 lemon slices or cucumbers. If you want healthy looking skin, hair, nails, as well as feel hydrated throughout the day, then make sure to start drinking more water.

4. Eat More Fruits & Vegetables
Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables every single day because your body will receive the fuel it needs to get on with the day, as well as help you maintain a healthy bodyweight, lose weight and even help you get into shape if you exercise regularly. Consuming veggies and fruits may even reduce your risk of having a stroke, heart disease and other conditions. Not only that, but fruits and veggies contain important vitamins and nutrients that can improve your memory, skin health and overall health.
As a general rule of thumb, you should do your best to eat a variety of bright colored fruits and veggies because they offer strong antioxidants, and try to consume the recommended amount of five servings of vegetables and fruits each day. Make healthy snacks ahead of time so you don’t have the urge to buy junk food.
5. Get 7+ Hours Of Sleep
A life changing habit you want to start doing is getting at least seven hours of sleep every single night because sleep plays a crucial role in how healthy you will be, how you feel and how alert you’ll be throughout the day. Getting plenty of sleep will ensure you are in a good mood, have optimal focus and will be less stressed out. Let’s not forget to mention that a whole host of health conditions are linked to not getting enough sleep.
If you struggle to sleep, then start trying to unwind an hour or two before bedtime or perform relaxation techniques (slow breathing or meditation) right before you want to go to bed.
6. Journaling
Journaling is all about writing down your thoughts, how you feel, what you did throughout the day and what you could have done differently, and the list goes on. The best thing about journaling is you can journal whatever you want, but the goal should be to journal every single day or at least once per week. The main benefit of journaling is it may help improve your mental health, which will have a positive impact on all areas of your life.
7. Make Time For Self-Care
Self-care will change your life, but you need to do it as often as possible. Self-care is all about doing something you love, or doing something for yourself. This can be anything from taking a 30 minute nap, or taking yourself out to a nice restaurant, getting your nails done, going for a massage or taking yourself on a day trip to a new city or even doing yoga or meditating.
By doing self-care regularly, your mindset could change, your mental health may improve and the overall quality of your life will improve. Self care should always be a part of your daily routine even if it’s just for 15 minutes a day.
8. Stay Physically Active
Being physically active keeps you in shape, fends of a number of conditions that can destroy your health, and it keeps you in a positive frame of mind. You can do many things that keep you active, such as going to the gym to train with weights if you want to build muscles, going for jogs/runs, brisk walks, running up the stairs, doing other forms of workouts, dancing to music in your downtime and the list goes on.
Find something that is physically for you to do, and do it regularly for at least 30-60 minutes per day, but if that’s stretching it, then do at least 20 minutes of hard physical activity so you can at least break out a sweat. You’ll burn a good amuont of calories for the day.
9. Go Offline
Stop checking your emails, browsing social media, checking in on YouTube, watching TikTok videos and any other stuff you’re doing online. At the end of your day, get off your devices, limit screen time and stay offline. Instead, go for a quick walk, do a bit of cooking or write out new recipes you want to try, read a book or do something else that doesn’t require you to be on the internet. By staying offline for extended periods of time, you might be surprised at how much your life will change as time goes by.
10. Positive Self-Reflection
The first thing you should do when you open your eyes in the morning is to self-reflect with positive thoughts. Remind yourself that there are things in your life that you are grateful for, and remind yourself that you will get to where you want to be, whether it’s living a healthier life or improving your financial situation, or just becoming a more happy person. Positive self-reflection can result in you being able to build skills, reduce anxiety, boost your overall health, and improve your overall ability to focus.
Final Thoughts
Eating a healthy breakfast every single day will set the tone for how you feel, and accomplishing things on your to-do list will make you feel like you have a purpose. Drinking more water, getting plenty of sleep and eating more veggies and fruits will also help change your life. Self-care, journaling, staying physically active, positive self-reflection and staying offline can transform your life, too.
