Recipe File: Apple Cider Hot Toddy
I can’t believe we’re less than a month away from Thanksgiving. I’m behind on so many things and now that the holidays are approaching quite rapidly, my stress-level is slightly rising. I’m not in panic-mode just yet and I can still get back on track if I work extra hard this week.
Anyway, enough about that and let’s talk about this holiday drink recipe I’m sharing with you today. It’s my go-to warm cocktail for cold weather- an Apple Cider Hot Toddy. This version of the classic hot toddy is a warm and cozy drink that is perfect for sipping on by the fire this holiday season.
A hot toddy is a classic winter drink and is known for alleviating symptoms of the common cold but you can still enjoy it even if you’re in tip top shape. It’s also a strong drink. If you prefer cocktails that mask the alcohol, then this drink isn’t for you.
I know my stress level will shoot up again as we get closer to Thanksgiving, so this Apple Cider Hot Toddy will come in handy when I need to regain my sanity.

Step 1. Combine apple cider, cinnamon, star anise, and cloves in a small sauce pan and bring to a boil over medium-low heat.
Step 2. Remove from heat, cover lid and allow spices to steep for about 12-15 minutes.
Step 3. While you wait, grab glasses and add 1/2 tbsp of honey in each one.
Step 4. Add whiskey and lemon juice and stir to combine.
Step 5. Strain spices and add apple cider mixture to each glass mug and stir to combine. You can add more honey if you prefer it sweeter.
