Holiday DIY: Peppermint Sugar Scrub Recipe!
I know it’s not even Halloween yet, but here I am thinking about the holidays and gift ideas. Skin care products always make great pampering gifts but it can be costly. So why not make one using items already in your kitchen like this peppermint sugar scrub. It’s so easy to make and a great DIY gift to give your friends for the holidays.

If you want to give your friends the royal at-home spa treatment on a dime, then this peppermint sugar scrub recipe is perfect because the soothing qualities of peppermint will add an extra touch of relaxation. Once you’re done, your body will be so soft and smooth. Use this to prep your legs before shaving with my DIY Rosemary Shaving Cream.
Peppermint Sugar Scrub Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups of sugar
- 1/2 cup of coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon of peppermint extract
- 2 drops of red food coloring
- 1 glass clamp jar (or any container)
- Baker’s Twine
- Gift Tags
Instructions
Step 1. Place coconut oil in a medium size bowl and microwave for 15 seconds until softened
Step 2. Add in the sugar along with the peppermint extract and mix until ingredients are well combined.
Step 3. Divide the mixture into two halves and move one of the halves into a 2nd bowl.

Step 4. Add in the red food coloring to the 2nd bowl and mix until food coloring is distributed evenly.
Step 5. Spoon scrub into a mason jar or air tight container creating a candy cane look.
Step 6. Decorate with baker’s twine and gift tag.
I used glass clamp jars for mine, but any mason jars or covered containers will work.

I love that you made it look like a peppermint! That’s adorable. I wonder if you could get the red to look a bit more red, though? I suppose you don’t want to overdo it with the food coloring, but it would be really neat if it were more red and less pink.
