How To Have A Happy And Healthy Holiday Season
In today’s post, I’m sharing 6 tips on how I plan to have a happy and healthy holiday season. I’m getting through the holidays with less stress and more joy so I can enjoy the holiday festivities even more this year. Thanks to Bayer for supporting my health this season and taking one less worry off my plate.
1. Plan In Advance
Some of the biggest stressors for me are holiday shopping, hanging decor, and gift wrapping presents. That’s why I plan ahead and start early. It truly is the best way to ensure you’re prepared for everything. For example, I have a long list for gifts and gift wrapping presents can take hours to complete. So, I choose a day for gift wrapping that isn’t already packed full of other commitments and duties. I try to keep wrapping day as fun and relaxed as possible.
Because it takes so much of my time, I’m left with aches and pains. Honestly, with all the heavy lifting and bending over, pain is inevitable. That’s why I always have a pain reliever like Aleve® ready on deck.
With Aleve, I get pain relief for the rest of the day with just two pills because each pill has the strength to last 12 hours. It’s the perfect choice for those like myself who are constantly active during the holiday season and need temporary relief of minor back and muscle aches and pains.
2. Have Better Eating Habits
I know far too well how hard it is to resist all the delicious treats and hot chocolate that come with celebrating. I’m left feeling bloated, constipated, and uncomfortable. When I’m super busy, I sometimes don’t make time to cook and I end up reaching for quick eats like baked goods and other unhealthy foods. To avoid overindulging, I just don’t do it every day. It’s okay to have fun and eat your favorites, but just pick a day to do so. I also plan to buy more healthy foods so when I do want to reach for a quick meal, it’s a healthier option.
Eating healthy is a good start, but it’s difficult for me to know if I’m getting all the key nutrients I may need from my diet alone. So, I keep it simple by adding a daily multivitamin like One A Day® Women’s VitaCraves Multivitamin Gummies.
It’s designed uniquely for women and it’s free of artificial sweeteners, dairy, egg, fish/shellfish allergens, and high fructose corn syrup. One A Day also helps to support my bone health, immune health, and more! I get so much daily from two gummies.

3. Stay Hydrated
When I’m in gift wrapping mode, I forget to drink enough water. It’s a common thing for me when I have a hundred things to do. I know right away when I’m feeling dehydrated. I’ll start getting headaches and feeling fatigued. Drinking at least eight glasses of water or carrying a bottle of water with me when I’m on the go can make all the difference.
4. Keep Things Regular
I also get constipated more during the holiday season. I think it’s because I stray away from my normal routine, which happens often—especially when I travel. For those times I’m feeling constipated, I’ll just add MiraLAX® to my water or any non-alcoholic beverage.
MiraLAX makes it very convenient for me to get relief with only one dose needed to get back to normal. I can mix it into any beverage, hot or cold. It works with the water in your body, has no taste at all, and does not cause harsh side effects. It’s also sugar-free, gluten-free, preservative-free, and stimulant-free.
5. Learn to Say “No”
I get a lot of invites to holiday parties, events, and social gatherings. I want to commit and say “yes” to all of them because I want to be supportive but when my body says “no,” I gotta trust that.
Don’t try to do too much and learn to say “no” to events/parties you don’t want to attend. Just go to a few of them if you don’t have the energy to go to all. You can use the start of the “new year” as time to reconnect with friends.
6. Make Time For Self Care
When I have a busy schedule, I take care of everyone but myself. So, I pencil in time to practice self care daily. It can be something as simple as meditating, exercising, journaling, or giving myself a spa day at home.
The holidays are also a great time for me to pre-commit to my health goals to help me move through the experiences of my day. I’ll arm myself with holiday essentials like Aleve for relief from minor aches and pains, MiraLAX for occasional constipation, Claritin® for allergies, and Alka-Seltzer Plus® for cold & flu to get me through the rest of December.
I’ll also continue taking One A Day Women’s VitaCraves Multivitamin Gummies. Not only will I get nutritional support daily, I’m also starting my healthy resolutions early.
