I decided to give myself a weekend staycation in Koreatown Los Angeles and it was the perfect way for me to unwind. I live in a little outside the city of Los Angeles but I don’t travel too often within the city as I would like due to traffic. So I decided to play tourist in one of L.A.’s popular and lively neighborhoods: Koreatown.
Koreatown Los Angeles: Things To Do, See & Eat
This bustling Los Angeles neighborhood has a lot to offer. Not only is it a safe place to live, it’s know for its cool lounges, casual 24/7 dining and late night scene. I’ve been to a few lounges here back in my college days and I always had a blast, but things have changed in the past several years so I decided to experience the area for 48 hours. I guess you can say I gave myself a mini staycation.
There’s so much to do here. Lots of great cafes and restaurants, bars, markets, spas and more! I enjoyed my time exploring Koreatown Los Angeles and below are my recommendations if you plan to visit.
Where to Stay
Whenever I’m in the area, it’s always a short trip and there are so many great shops and eateries to explore. So, I booked my stay at The Line Hotel.
I stayed at The Line Hotel during my stay in Koreatown. It’s a beautiful hotel, great amenities and the rooms are huge. I found so many eateries and coffee shops within walking distance of the hotel including my favorite Alfred Coffee at the lower level.
Here are a list of places I recommend you visit when spending a weekend in L.A.’s Koreatown.
Koreatown Los Angeles: Eats & Drinks
1. Alfred Coffee: I’ve visited their Silverlake location numerous times so I was happy to see it inside the Line Hotel. First time trying their Raspberry rose croissant. It was delicious!
2. Openaire: Such a beautiful establishment. It’s located on the second floor of the Line Hotel. I just love all the greenery inside and outside the restaurant.
3. Alchemist Coffee Project: There’s actually two in Koreatown. I went to their newest location at The Pearl. Their vanilla and lavender lattes are bomb!
4. Document Coffee Bar: Good coffee and great ambiance to do some reading.
5. Bumsan Organic Milk Bar: If you’re visiting Koreatown during the warmer months, make sure to stop by here. Their soft serve organic ice cream is delicious and not too sweet.
6. California Donuts: These instagramable donuts are just too cute to eat!
7. Gogobop: This Korean rice bar is diagonally opposite of The Line Hotel. I stopped here twice during my stay because it’s so good!
8. Beverly Soon Tofu: Stopped by here my first night. There was a long wait but with reason. Their soft tofu soups are delicious. I got the combination beef w/ spicy chicken. So flavorful!
Koreatown Los Angeles: Shopping
9. Poketo: A cute stationery shop at the lower level of The Line Hotel. I’ve been to their Little Tokyo and Arts District location and I’ve always loved the fact that they include products from local designers and artists. It’s a bit on the pricey side but you get quality products and you’re supporting local talents.
10. California Marketplace: Lots of cool shops and eateries. I made sure to hit up a beauty store to stock up on sheet masks!
11. Koreatown Galleria: It’s clean and spacious with so many stores to choose from. My favorite spot is the food court. So many food stalls that are really cheap. If you’re into Kpop, stop by Choice Music LA. You’ll be in Kpop heaven.
12. Daiso Japan: Lots of cute Japanese goodies at bargain prices.
