It’s that time of year again. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2023 is coming soon and I’ll be giving you a sneak peek of the sale, which occurs once a year, as we get closer to the big launch. This sale is what every fashionista looks forward to so they can stock up on brand new clothes, shoes, handbags, and accessories from top brands at a discounted rate for the upcoming fall season.

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale also have amazing deals in home goods and beauty too and the deals are insane!

What Is The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a big sale that customers look forward to every year to shop new fall merchandise at a massive discount before it becomes available to the public. Some even say that it rivals Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Every year, the sale occurs in mid-July through early-August, and they typically have a presale period for Nordstrom Insiders a week before the general public sale. The NSale is almost a month long, but most deals are gone when goods are out of stock.

What are the dates for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2023?

So when does the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale start and end? The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2023 dates will run from July 17th to August 6th for the general public. For those who are Nordy members or have a Nordstrom card, you’ll have early access to the sale starting July 11th, 2023. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale preview begins in late June/early July 2023.

The sale starts as soon as the doors open in-store, but online the sale begins at 12:01 AM EST.

What Brands Are On Sale During the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?

The catalog preview is now available on the site. This massive event is your chance to get discounts off 100+ brands for men, women, kids and the home—and this year, Nordstrom is bringing some new favorites to the table. You’ll find special collections of handbags and shoes and an array of dresses, swimwear, and more anniversary sale items.

The NSale is one of the most anticipated sales of the year, and this year will be no different.

The sale always occurs every July—but the exact start date differs each year. If this is the first year you’re shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, just know that this is a limited-time opportunity to save on brand new arrivals for the fall 2023 season.

However, if you’re a veteran shopper who knows how to shop during this event, then you’ll know that these sales are massively discounted up to 50% off seasonal items. Yes, everything is new!

If you’re looking for a great deal on some new clothes like cardigans and coats to update your fall wardrobe, the NSale is a pretty good place to start. One of the things I love about this sale is that it’s the perfect opportunity to get a preview on the latest fall trends.

This year’s digital catalog features everything from men’s and women’s clothing to cosmetics and jewelry. There are even some home goods like throw pillows, candles, luggage, and toiletries.

Last year’s catalog featured a lot more than just clothing items and beauty essentials. There were plenty of housewares and other knick-knacks available than the previous year so I expect to see the same or even more in the 2023 catalog.

Honestly every year, this sale is huge and I anticipate another big one this year. I can’t wait!

How To Shop The NSale Like a Pro- The Best Strategy

Summer is here, which means it won’t be long until the NSale is here for the general public. If you’ve been shopping the sale traditionally, then you probably got this down to a science. If it’s your first time, it can be a little overwhelming.

Now I’m going to share with you some of my best tips to shop the sale like a pro so your shopping experience is less painful.

1. Shop Early

The best deals and popular items sell out quickly, so get there early to snag your favorites. Want to make sure you don’t miss out on anything? Sign up for emails from Nordstrom, so you’ll be notified when new items are added to the site.

2. Use The Catalog

Next, start by using the catalog. This year will be a digital catalog that will be available on the website June 29th, 2023. You’ll find the latest trends for the fall season, style inspiration, styling tips and a lot more! When you view the catalog online, you can add items that you love to your wishlist.

You’ll find brands like Nike, La Mer, Jo Malone London, Vince, Veronica Beard, Barefoot Dreams, AllSaints, Tory Burch, Diptyque, Olaplex, Estee Lauder, SPANX, Kiehl’s Since 1851, Steve Madden, UGG®, Free People and many more! In fact, they usually update the catalog and add new items daily!

3. Shop online

The best way to shop the sale is online because you shop early. Everyone can shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale online starting at 12:01 am EST on July 17th (or 9:01 PM PT on July 16th). You can get ahead start online and then go in-store during regular work hours. Nordstrom always offer free shipping and free returns. I prefer this option because the stores can be quite chaotic especially the first few days of the sale.

4. In-store pickup / Curbside

Another best way to shop Nordstrom sale items is to use their in-store pickup option. This allows you to buy items online and then pick them up at a store without paying shipping or handling fees. Curbside pickup is another option too and you don’t even need to get out of the car!

When shopping for sale items at Nordstrom, it’s important to ensure that the item you’re interested in is available in your desired size and color. When looking at an item on Nordstrom’s website, there will be an “Availability” box next to each size and color option.

Suppose there are no availability options listed next to an item. In that case, a particular size or color combination is not available in the store where you’ll be picking up your order. When then happens, it would be better to have that item shipped to you if you really want to buy it or see if they have it at another store you’re willing to drive to.

If you see an item with availability options listed but want to check if those sizes/colors are available at another store near where you live or work, click on the “Find In Store” button next to the product description on Nordstrom’s website. Once there, enter your zip code and click “Search Stores.” The search results will show which stores have what sizes/colors available.

5. Check back for restocks

First off, check for restocks. This means that items sold out during the first week will be added back into inventory and available for purchase again. There are usually minimal restocks before public access, but afterwards, there is no guarantee. You can check back on an hourly basis throughout the sale event to see if anything has been added back in—and if it has, act fast before they sell out again.

6. Sign up for email notifications

Sign up for email notifications. Nordstrom sends emails with up-to-date information on what’s already been marked down and what’s still in stock.

7. Use their mobile app to browse the sale

Use their mobile app to browse the sale items right on your phone. Their app makes it easy to search for something specific or browse what’s new and trending, so you’ll never miss out on anything. Plus, you can get notifications when an item goes on sale (or when there’s a restock), so you don’t have to keep checking back throughout the day or week.

8. Take advantage of Personal Double Points Day

You can actually schedule a Personal Double Points Day during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale if you are a part of The Nordy Club and have unlocked Influencer status. It’s more strategic to use this benefit if you’re making a big purchase so you can save a lot. Just make sure you schedule the day you plan to shop with a salesperson or online before checkout.

9. Set a budget for yourself and stick to it

If you don’t have a strict limit on how much money you’re willing to spend on clothing, you’ll end up spending a lot more than you intended. It’s important to figure out a reasonable amount for you and then stick with it.

How To Decide What To Buy

Here are some things to consider before making your purchase:

What do you already have? You don’t want to duplicate items or buy something already in your closet (or kitchen or bathroom) unless you’re trying to replace it.
Have your wishlist created before the sale begins. Use the catalog to find items that you want to buy and add them to your wish list.
Think about how often you’ll wear it and what kind of life it will have. Will it go with everything? Does it need special care? Will it get dirty easily?
Don’t wait until the last minute. The best stuff goes fast, so if there’s something specific on your mind, get shopping done early in the sale, preferably the first day.

What About Returns?

If you could snag your favorite items during the sale, but they didn’t fit quite right, you can always go back and exchange them online for a different size (or color) if they’re available or try looking for the items in-store. If they aren’t in stock, remember that they could be restocked at a later time but again, no guarantees. Luckily Nordstrom has a really good return policy.

Keep your eyes peeled on social media or you can set up an alert of that item on the Nordstrom website to see if it’s been restocked in your size or color.

How To Prepare For The NSale

Here’s how to prepare for the NSale:

Know what you want before you go shopping.
Shop early. Check the sale page on Nordstrom’s website everyday starting at 9:01 AM PST on July 16th/12:01 AM EST on July 17th to start shopping. Check back often throughout the rest of the day for any new updates like restocks.
Set up a Nordstrom account so that your items can be saved on a wishlist and purchased at a later date (if necessary).
Make sure that you sign up for The Nordy Club or Nordstrom debit or credit card so you can get early access to the sale.

What Is The Nordy Club?

The Nordy Club is a free membership program that rewards you for shopping at Nordstrom. Earn points for every eligible dollar spent, and then redeem them for Nordstrom Notes. Plus, your membership comes with other exclusive benefits like early access to sales including the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, coupons and special offers just for members. The amount of points and benefits you get is based on your current status in The Nordy Club.

Starting from the lowest to highest:

Member: Free to Join // 1000 points = $10 Nordstrom Note
Influencer: $500 spend per year // 1000 points = $10 Nordstrom Note
Ambassador: $5000 spend per year // 2000 points = $20 Nordstrom Note
Icon: $15,000 spend per year using a Nordstrom Credit Card // 2000 points = $20 Nordstrom Note

If you have Member or Influencer status, you’ll receive a $10 Nordstrom Note for every 1000 reward points earned. For every 2,000 reward points earned, you receive a $20 Nordstrom Note if you have Ambassador or Icon status. You can then use these notes towards purchases of items at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Hautelook and Nordstrom Trunk Club for additional savings when you shop!

Nordstrom Credit Card is a reward card that offers great benefits. Being a Nordstrom cardholder can also give you the chance to earn points that can be redeemed for Nordstrom merchandise and exclusive perks. Nordstrom offers two kinds of cards: a retail credit card and a Visa credit card. Both offer the same benefits. You can sign up for one here!
