Recipe: Gingerbread Hot Chocolate
Christmas is a time for family and traditions, and for me that means a lot of baking and eating. I found an amazing recipe from A Beautiful Mess that combines two of my favorite holiday treats: gingerbread and hot chocolate. It’s such a genius idea and I decided to put my own spin on it and I plan to prepare this Gingerbread Hot Chocolate recipe for my family on Christmas. We’re all big hot chocolate lovers and nothing warms up my soul than sipping on hot cocoa and eating gingerbread cookies with loved ones.
This tasty hot chocolate and gingerbread combo is also perfect for those cold winter days and nights.
Gingerbread Hot Chocolate Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp of gingerbread syrup (love this brand)
- 2 cups of low fat milk
- 2 tbsps. of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 4 tsp of sugar
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1. Warm milk over low heat.
Step 2. Add in cocoa powder, sugar, and gingerbread syrup.
Step 3. Once hot, pour into your favorite mug and enjoy!
I also want to mention that you can change the amount of cocoa powder, sugar, and syrup to your liking. I think the syrup amount is just enough to get the gingerbread flavor. I made this with one of my friends the other day and we enjoyed every sip while munching on gingerbread cookies. We were really hungry that day and ended up eating the whole box of cookies, haha. Luckily for us it wasn’t a big box.
It’s nice to change up a classic drink once in a while especially around the holiday season. It’s usually when I like to add a little bit more variety to my drinks since I always end up hosting several holiday parties.I hope you give this gingerbread hot chocolate recipe a try!
